Job description

Our client, a dynamic sports broadcaster, is urgently seeking a Home Broadcast Engineer / Network Engineer responsible for overseeing the company's broadcast and production assets. The role involves ensuring proper tracking, valuation, and usage of assets to support the organization's financial health and operational efficiency, as well as supporting all and participating in selected outside broadcasts.

Requirements:

• Diploma or relevant qualification in broadcasting
• Experience in broadcasting
• Rentman proficiency
• Understanding of relevant legislation
• Technically minded

Responsibilities include:

1. Broadcast Operations and Logistics:

• Maintaining specialist equipment for video production, broadcast, satellite transmission, and interactive media.
• Installing and testing new facilities and equipment.
• Setting up and operating editing facilities in post-production suites.
• Analyzing and repairing technical faults on transmission equipment and systems.
• Conducting routine and emergency maintenance on technical assets, troubleshooting, and documenting issues and solutions.
• Monitoring equipment wear and tear, inspecting for signs of deterioration, and scheduling maintenance.
• Collaborating on event preparation, assembling technical kits tailored to event requirements.
• Verifying equipment standards and conducting pre-event testing.
• Maintaining an inventory of spare parts and tools, forecasting needs based on schedules and records.

Warehouse Management:

• Organizing warehouse layout for efficient storage.
• Establishing procedures for receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming goods.
• Tracking inventory levels accurately.
• Ensuring safety protocols and regulatory compliance.

Communication and Reporting:

• Managing administrative duties and stakeholder meetings.
• Safeguarding company assets.
• Submitting reports timely.
• Keeping stakeholders informed.
• Gaining thorough understanding of HQ Broadcast Systems for senior support roles.
• Managing broadcast equipment.

Administration:

• Using Rentman correctly for asset management, including tagging and fault logging.
• Updating asset registers.
• Assisting with quotations and procurement.
• Managing insurance, goods receipt, and asset deregistration.
• Liaising with courier services.
• Maintaining supplier and service agreements for repairs and upkeep.
