Accountant - Harrismith

Remuneration: R25,000

Introduction

Our client within the FMCG industry is seeking an experienced accountant responsible for general and financial accounting. The role involves managing financial records and transactions, ensuring accurate reporting, tracking expenses, analyzing financial data, and supporting business decision-making. The accountant will also ensure compliance with financial regulations and assist in preparing and examining financial documents.

Additional responsibilities include reconciling accounts, identifying discrepancies, supporting financial audits, and performing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and administrative tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Ledger Accounts and Reconciliations
2. Recording financial transactions
3. Reconciling accounts and statements
4. Preparing financial statements
5. Generating financial reports
6. Budgeting and forecasting
7. Analyzing financial data
8. Providing tax documentation
9. Performing accounts payable and receivable tasks
10. Tracking diesel, stock (including seeds, livestock, and wildlife), and sales
11. Ensuring statutory compliance
12. Assisting during financial audits

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification (essential)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
• 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
• Financial reporting and analysis experience
• Debtors and creditors experience (advantageous)
• Experience in Agriculture and Food Manufacturing Industry (beneficial)
