Job description

Job Responsibilities

Assist in and support the ME plans on existing and new production lines.

Support ME Improvement objectives by analysis of lost time and problem-solving analysis or any other quality-related losses. Monitor & reduce cost of poor quality through ME and TQM processes; initiatives will be introduced to improve/reduce the cost of poor quality.

Ensure all agreed-to ME facilities, machine, and methods improvements are planned and implemented timely as requested through implementation and/or reported losses.

In conjunction with the management team, propose support and document the most cost-effective improvement strategies with timings to achieve improvement objectives. Support management in closing engineering-related problem-solving activities.

Ensure the loop is closed by implementing corrective and preventive actions. Meet improvement targets aligned with budgets.

Plan, measure, and meet budgeted improvements in materials and overtime costs. Support Kaizen initiatives and ensure 5S standards are maintained and improved upon, including in new production facilities.

Health, Safety, and Environment

Comply with all applicable compliance obligations. Provide a workplace free of injury and ill-health. Protect the environment and prevent pollution. Advise on correct PPE usage for facility requirements.

Quality

Meet or exceed customer quality requirements. Identify and mitigate risks affecting quality for new and existing products. Analyze process data to ensure targets are met. Approve manufacturing processes for production, including jigs, fixtures, and processes. Assist in trial activities to ensure quality standards are maintained.

Delivery

Manage scrap to eliminate or reduce waste. Optimize production lines to meet customer demand and quotes. Evaluate and mitigate risks. Support cross-functional projects to ensure timely delivery of customer requirements. Address process concerns promptly. Ensure manufacturing processes are delivered on time and support the MPT process. Involved in process controls for new and current projects.

People Development

Focus on personal development aligned with company strategy. Adhere to HR policies. Conduct and evaluate on-the-job training, maintaining training records.

General

Carry out all reasonable instructions and tasks issued by management. Uphold the company's vision and values, acting in the best interest of the company per policies and procedures.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Critical)
• Diploma in Process Engineering
• Knowledge of MS Office and problem-solving tools
• Risk-based thinking and ability to interpret technical drawings
• Experience in production engineering and manufacturing/fabrication environments
• Use of measuring equipment, advanced CAD, and intermediate computer literacy skills
• Experience in metal pressing, welding, metal finishing, assemblies, and E-coating
