Junior Business Partner

M+C Saatchi Group is seeking a qualified or part-qualified Junior Business Partner to join our finance team in Cape Town. Candidates should have at least 5 years of finance experience, including a minimum of 2 years in month-end reporting, along with exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Location: Cape Town – Hybrid

About The Role

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner based in London, this role will support group cost management and visibility across a central cost base of approximately £30 million, covering around 25 cost centres.

Collaborating closely with UK-based cost centre managers and the transactional team in Cape Town, the role involves ensuring accurate and timely reporting of central costs, developing cost centre managers' proactive management of their costs, and fostering confidence in the financial data (actuals, budgets, and forecasts).

Responsibilities

Daily/Monthly Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Month-end accounting and review
  • Supporting forecasting and cost control aligned with business objectives
  • Reviewing costs with cost centre managers
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and risks
  • Providing cost management information
  • Balance sheet review and commentary reporting
  • Cash flow management and forecasting
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports, budgets, and variance analyses
  • Collaborating with the Shared Services Centre to ensure accurate reporting
  • Supporting ad hoc projects
About You

You will have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in finance, with a minimum of 2 years in month-end accounting
  • Part-qualified or qualified by experience
  • A solid understanding of financial reporting, accounting standards, and issue resolution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop business partnering skills (experience not required but desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance colleagues
  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with NetSuite is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Power BI is beneficial but not essential
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
