Job description

Our client, a prominent food services company, is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their close-knit and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing both creditors and debtors, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. This position also offers the opportunity to develop skills in procurement, broadening exposure to various financial and operational functions.

The responsibilities include:

1. Receiving and processing work submitted by internal units to ensure efficiency.
2. Performing general administrative duties, including maintaining current insurance files and data records.
3. Overseeing data lines in collaboration with onsite vendors to ensure smooth operations.
4. Working closely with third-party suppliers to foster strong professional relationships.
5. Managing creditors and debtors functions, with a focus on creditors management.
6. Participating in day-to-day business operations to support various functions.
7. Assisting with procurement tasks to contribute to the supply chain process.
8. Conducting reconciliation tasks with a sound understanding of debits, credits, and financial balancing.

Skills & Experience :

• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance, particularly handling creditors and debtors functions, with a strong focus on creditors management.
• Proficiency in Pastel accounting software or similar platforms.
• Experience with manual data processing, requiring attention to detail and efficiency.
• Experience in the food services and hospitality industry is preferred, but candidates from related industries are also welcome.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain up-to-date insurance files and documentation.
• Excellent reconciliation skills, with a solid understanding of debits, credits, and financial balancing.
• Ability to manage both creditors and debtors, ensuring smooth operations and financial accuracy.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manual environment, staying organized and meeting deadlines.
