Job Description

We are looking to fill the position of a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our electrical engineering team within a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm.

The company undertakes large capital projects across various sectors. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for developing designs through different project stages, coordinating tasks, and preparing design documentation as part of the project team.

The role involves performing specific segments of broader assignments as an experienced engineer, guiding Candidate Engineers, providing design input to CAD/BIM technicians, and working on detailed or routine engineering tasks involving calculations and tests.

Technical Excellence

• Develop designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and BIM models according to discipline requirements.
• Work on drawings under supervision, contributing design content with technical accuracy.
• Ensure high-quality outputs within project timelines.
• Analyze information from discipline-specific and interdisciplinary BIM models.
• Utilize computer software to solve engineering problems.
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers for seamless design integration.
• Participate in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Check model accuracy and quality produced by BIM/CAD teams.
• Seek opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Contribute to problem-solving and apply theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments.
• Proficiency in BIM software, especially Revit, is advantageous.
• Design and check LV and MV electrical systems, including load lists, single line diagrams, network diagrams, schematic diagrams, hazard classifications, and protection schemes.
• Specify electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, UPS, cables, and lighting.

Client Relationship Management

• Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements and explain work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of experience post-qualification.
• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional registration as an Engineer with ECSA.
