We’re Hiring: General Manager – Operations (Public Sector / BRO)

Location: Sandton, Gauteng, South Africa | Permanent | Full-time

Are you a seasoned operations leader with a strong grip on collections, risk, and stakeholder management?

We’re looking for a dynamic General Manager: Operations to lead and grow our Public Sector / BRO Business Unit. If you’ve got the strategic acumen and operational grit to drive high-impact outcomes, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead day-to-day operations and optimise business unit performance across all KPIs
  • Develop and execute effective unsecured collections and recovery strategies
  • Build and manage client relationships, ensuring SLAs and mandates are exceeded
  • Collaborate with Risk, IT, Client Support and other stakeholders to deliver on group objectives
  • Manage 3rd party vendor performance and ensure compliance with key legislation
  • Drive people development, succession planning, and team culture
  • Ensure data-led reporting to executive and board-level stakeholders

What You’ll Need

  • 10–12 years in the Financial Services or Collections sector
  • 5–10 years in management, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • Strong commercial understanding of unsecured collections & risk strategy
  • Solid knowledge of: NCA, DCA, CPA
  • Litigation processes
  • Campaign & Dialer Management
  • Workforce planning and capacity modelling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
