Requirements
- Matric
- 5 years of Sales Experience, with solid homeware retail product experience
- 2 years in an Assistant Manager / Manager role
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to maintain consistent punctual and reliable attendance
- High energy levels and strong focus
Duties
- Maximize sales and control expenses
- Stock control and weekly stock takes
- Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees
- Follow up on work results
- Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
- Maintain staff results through coaching, counseling, disciplining, planning, monitoring, and appraising job performance
- Prepare annual budgets, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions
- Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with customers and other stakeholders
- Ensure merchandise availability by approving contracts and maintaining inventories
- Secure merchandise by monitoring security systems and measures
- Provide a safe and clean environment to protect employees and customers
- Maintain store reputation by complying with legal requirements
- Set up effective marketing displays for the sales floor and windows
- Manage controllable costs to keep operations profitable
- Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales
- Interpret market trends to facilitate planning
- Respond to customer complaints and comments
- Monitor market trends and competitors’ activities
- Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures
- Perform any other duties as required by the supervisor
Hours
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 16:30 or 08:30 - 17:00
