Engineering Manager – Mining Industry – R1.56mil – R1mil

Hire Resolve’s client in the mining industry is urgently seeking the expertise of an Engineering Manager in Limpopo.

Responsibilities:

1. Experience in Process Plant, Operation and Maintenance (TMMs, Conveyor Belts, Screening, Milling, Thickening, Hydro cyclone Classification, CIP and CIL, Furnaces, etc.)
2. Provide Engineering Technical Support and Incorporating New Technologies
3. Project Management, Design and Construction (Planning, Design, Construction, Commissioning and Handover)
4. Be the Engineering Manager in general charge of machinery and carry a legal appointment in terms of regulation 2.13.1 of Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Act 29 of )
5. Ensure the safe design, installation, operation and maintenance of all machinery and equipment
6. Ensure the safe design, construction and erection of all structures and buildings
7. Ensure the effective record keeping of legal registers and logbooks as required by the MHSA
8. Ensure compliance to the provisions of the Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Act 29 of)
9. Responsible for the metallurgical production plant and tailings storage facilities engineering section
10. Responsible for all underground and surface operations at the Stibium Mopani Mine
11. Your area of responsibility will be as depicted on the plans kept in the Surveyor’s office. You need to familiarise yourself with these plans and ensure it correctly reflects your area of responsibility
12. Implement and maintain standards, procedures, and codes of practice
13. Ensure effective labour utilization in the engineering department. Manage staff members to ensure effective and safe engineering practices. Implement a performance management system and maintain discipline of staff
14. Responsible for the engineering expenditure and budgeting (Opex and Capex). Maintain and establish a cost system with effective budgets parameters, reconciling of all engineering accounts (e.g., Eskom bill, Invoices and etc.)
15. Ensure the work cycle management is functional and deviations are reviewed i.e., maintenance schedules, works orders & breakdowns
16. Draft and implement a maintenance plan short, medium, and long term inclusive of inspection, log sheets and log books, condition monitoring and planned maintenance shutdowns
17. Identify value add engineering projects and implement. Plant optimisation and utilisation upkeep
18. Develop and maintain a feedback and reporting system to management on activities in your area of responsibility
19. Enforce engineering data procurement i.e. OEM manuals, drawings in the centralized library
20. Reduce repeat breakdowns through instituting discipline on breakdown investigations
21. Reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) on breakdowns

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• GCC Mines and Works
• National Diploma/BTech Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• 6-10 years of experience in the mining industry
