Time Conditions: 5 day Work Week (South Africa)

Purpose of Position: To train employees within the Immunology laboratory to ensure theoretical and practical competence and continuous improvement of skills.

Requirements:

1. HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field (Required)
2. National Diploma Biomedical Technology / Bachelor of Health Sciences Medical Laboratory Science (Required)
3. Registered Assessor
4. Registered Facilitator
5. Registered Moderator

Required Experience:

1. 1-2 years working experience as a technologist within the field of Serology or Immunology
2. 2 years immunology experience as a Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist within a pathology laboratory environment
3. General On the job training experience
4. Knowledge: GCP/GLP requirements
5. Knowledge: HPCSA regulations
6. Knowledge: Meditech system
7. Knowledge: MS Word and MS Excel
8. Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)
9. Knowledge: Quality Control
10. Knowledge: relevant syllabi
11. Senior and/or supervisory or managerial experience
12. Subject matter expertise with regards to laboratory procedures and instruments

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess staff in order to make judgements regarding staff competence
2. Design and develop training material and competency tools in outcomes based format to ensure effective transfer of skills
3. Facilitate syllabus aligned theoretical and practical training in preparation for board/UoT exit exams and bench proficiency
4. Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath
5. Perform training related administration tasks in order to ensure effective planning of training and recording and storing of training data
