City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking a motivated Field Worker to join the Civil Construction and Maintenance team in a permanent fulltime capacity.

Reporting to the Works Coordinator you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient maintenance and construction of civil infrastructure and municipal works. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Field Worker who has relevant asphalting and civil works experience.

A day in the life

Your role as a Field Worker will see you working collaboratively within a team with a range of responsibilities including :

  • Constructing and maintaining road pavement concrete works asphalt works drainage works and vegetation control.
  • Ensuring that safe work practices are adopted and adhered to in accordance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) Guidelines every time you step onsite.
  • Promoting the image of City of Newcastle in the field always aligning with our CREW values.
  • Executing instructions (both verbal and written) from supervisors in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maximising productivity ensuring allocated works are completed within nominated timeframes to minimise the inconvenience to public amenities while also meeting budgetary constraints.
  • Continually looking to improve skills and knowledge always asking for assistance where needed and striving for excellence.
