Job summary

Purpose of Job

To manage the engineering maintenance processes within the appointed area of responsibility to enable various mining teams to reach production targets within the principles of QCDSM.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage and execute engineering and maintenance strategies and overhaul plans daily to meet department KPIs, including equipment repair and replacement.
  • Manage maintenance costs against the budget and ensure equipment availability by effectively managing downtime, shifts, MTTF, and MTTR.
  • Ensure adherence to maintenance programs and implement operational projects, engineering compliance, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with engineering principles, legislation, and governance bodies, including SOP/COP implementation.
  • Assess economic and engineering viability of major business cases; provide inspection expertise and coaching.
  • Manage condition monitoring programs, conduct failure trend analysis, root cause analysis, and execute predictive maintenance recommendations.
  • Support departments in achieving targets through coordinated planning and cost control.
  • Maintain safety standards and continuous safety performance improvements to ensure zero harm, fatalities, and LWDCR.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, coaching, and career development, managing staffing levels and employee engagement.
Formal Education

Grade 12 / N3 with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English OR University Diploma. Trade Certificate in Millwright preferred.

Working Experience

Minimum 10 years relevant experience, including at least 2 years as a Foreman.
