Job description

Job Overview: The Chief Human Capital Officer (CHCO) is responsible for leading and overseeing the development, execution, and optimization of MIFA’s human capital strategy. This role ensures alignment of people practices with the organizational strategy.

Experience:

  • Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Registration with the SA Board for People Practices (SABPP).
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR management experience, including 5 years at an executive or senior leadership level.
  • Skills in Strategic Leadership, Labour Law Compliance, Change Management, Performance Management, Diversity and Inclusion, Budget Management, Stakeholder Engagement, HR Technology, Payroll Governance.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep understanding of strategic human capital management, including workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Expert knowledge of South African labour laws and compliance frameworks such as BCEA, LRA, EE Act, and Skills Development legislation.
  • Exceptional leadership and change management skills, with a proven ability to lead transformation initiatives across diverse teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in aligning human capital budgets, compensation structures, and reporting with organizational strategy.
