Electrical Proposals Engineer

PCI Africa, a leading Water and Wastewater Process Contractor working primarily in the Municipal Sector across Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond, with its head office in Honeydew, Gauteng, is seeking suitably qualified applicants.

Essential Functions :

1. Ensure that all aspects of the electrical, instrumentation, and control components of tenders are completed accurately.
2. Break down the EC&I components of the tender into PCI Africa cost codes (including but not limited to MVSG, power transformers, cables, LV MCCs, PLCs, RIO Panels, Instruments, PLC, and SCADA).
3. Work with the electrical engineering department to ensure that the technical specifications of packages are correct.
4. Engage with suppliers and installation service providers when requesting quotations and ensure that tender-specific commercial terms are communicated, understood, and included in the pricing.
5. Negotiate better prices with suppliers.
6. Coordinate technical and commercial adjudications when evaluating supplier quotations.
7. Develop and improve relationships with suppliers.
8. Ensure all EC&I tender requirements are met by attending regular reviews and providing feedback as required.
9. Consolidate engineering and drawing office hours into costing sheets.
10. Identify and mitigate potential technical risks to PCI Africa.
11. Prepare handover documentation as tenders are awarded.
12. Ensure that organizational knowledge is maintained within the tendering team.
13. Support the processes and procedures in place to comply with ISO standards.

Role Qualifications and Experience :

1. Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2. 10 years of relevant tendering experience where the value of the electrical component was at least R60M.
3. Knowledge and experience in applying ISO standards.
