Job Title: Senior Specialist Technical Delivery

Role Purpose / Business Unit

We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist Technical Delivery to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving the success of our ETL development projects, with a strong focus on DataStage.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in data analysis, business intelligence, data warehousing, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

1. ETL Processes: Develop efficient and optimized ETL processes using IBM DataStage and other tools.
2. Data Analysis Reports: Generate comprehensive data analysis reports to support business intelligence initiatives.
3. BI Solutions: Enhance reporting solutions to provide actionable business insights.
4. Data Warehousing: Design and maintain well-architected data warehousing solutions.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain regular updates and alignment with business objectives through effective stakeholder management.
6. Team Development: Mentor and guide junior team members to improve skills and performance.
7. Project Deliverables: Ensure timely and successful completion of ETL development projects.
8. Service Operations: Manage incidents and problems across DE applications, ensuring service delivery, capacity, performance, and availability. Oversee change management and service transitions.
9. Operational Health and Capacity Management: Monitor system health, manage ASICS controls, reviews, and approvals, coordinate monthly KPI/KASM reporting, and drive continual service improvement initiatives.

Additional Functions

The role also involves critical functions in DevOps and Data Platforms, including coordination with teams, risk management, progress monitoring, and collaboration with release engineers, similar to a Release Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in application support roles.
• 3-year Diploma or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; Grade 12 essential.
• Certifications are advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Minimum of 7 years in ETL development, especially with IBM DataStage.
• Proficiency in data analysis, BI tools, and data warehousing concepts.
• Expertise in SQL and database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Experience with other ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell scripting).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
• Understanding of data modeling and architecture principles.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and Agile methodologies (Jira, Confluence).
