Activities

As a Key Account Specialist (Mining), your responsibilities include:

  • Possessing an appropriate tertiary qualification in sales, business management, or administration.
  • Having 4-6 years of marketing and sales management experience in the oil industry or a comparable industry.
  • Exposure to analyzing and interpreting financial statements/results.
  • Interacting with employees, customers, and government/parastatal organizations.
  • Possessing good sales management, negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Having good knowledge of business and legal fundamentals.
  • Applying people management and interpersonal skills effectively.
  • Adhering to TMSA's Code of Conduct, Ethics, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Being computer literate, with proficiency in SAP and SALSA.
Candidate Profile

The Key Account Specialist serves as the primary contact for customers, managing the distribution of brands/products within assigned outlets. Responsibilities include building strong client relationships, achieving sales targets, ensuring high-quality customer service, managing receivables, and gathering market feedback. Main Responsibilities
  • Achieving sales budgets for fuels and lubricants and contributing to budgeting.
  • Maintaining and managing good customer relationships in the mining channel.
  • Managing pricing, rebates, discounts, and associated costs.
  • Collecting under-recoveries such as transport, product returns, and maintenance costs.
  • Controlling gross margin after variable expenses per customer.
  • Managing customer credit and ensuring service delivery.
  • Conducting variance analysis and business reviews, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Managing stock levels and sales forecasting.
  • Monitoring and controlling costs related to Fuel Management System suppliers and others.
  • Preparing monthly business reviews and KPIs, including asset management.
  • Controlling contracts and administrative obligations.
Asset & Stock Management
  • Managing operating expenditure and working capital through budget monitoring to enhance profitability.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and TMSA requirements for handling, storing, and distributing products.
Mining Strategy
  • Identifying and collaborating on mining business opportunities with the Business Development Manager.
  • Implementing marketing strategies and activities to meet objectives.
  • Gathering market intelligence, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
  • Proposing investment opportunities in sales areas.
  • Controlling capital expenditure and commitments.
  • Participating in developing sales and marketing strategies.
HSSE
  • Managing and minimizing HSE risks by ensuring compliance with policies, rules, and legal requirements.
  • Promoting a safe working environment and contributing to HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies.
  • Ensuring HSE competency requirements are identified and enforced.
People
  • Assisting in developing, coaching, and mentoring trainees and new sales staff to foster a positive working environment, attract skilled staff, and increase productivity.
