Job description

Our client is seeking a passionate and professional Field Guide to join their dynamic team at their luxury 5-star game lodge. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional safari experiences, ensuring guest safety and enjoyment while showcasing extensive knowledge of the African bush. You’ll be responsible for conducting game drives, bush walks (if qualified), and offering guests an unforgettable, educational, and entertaining safari adventure.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct morning and afternoon game drives in an informative and engaging manner
• Host guests throughout their stay, ensuring a memorable and seamless safari experience
• Share expert knowledge of the wildlife, ecosystems, and conservation practices
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all guests during activities
• Assist with bush walks if qualified and authorized
• Conduct pre-drive briefings and post-drive debriefings
• Perform daily vehicle and equipment checks and report maintenance needs
• Adhere to lodge operational protocols and conservation guidelines
• Collaborate with lodge staff to maintain high guest service standards
• Represent the lodge and brand professionally at all times

Requirements:

• FGASA Level 1 (minimum)
• Valid First Aid Level 1
• Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
• Excellent communication and guest interaction skills
• Strong knowledge of local flora and fauna
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Previous luxury lodge experience is an advantage
