Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the Security Operations in accordance with site specifications & PSIRA standards.
- Reduce unplanned absenteeism to ensure maximum site coverage.
- Control overtime caused by unplanned absenteeism.
- Prevent claims against the Company through regular assessment of customer risks.
- Ensure all services provided are invoiced accurately and paid on time.
- Hold regular meetings with service providers and ensure reports are prepared to assist the Security Director during contract review meetings, in accordance with ISO 9001; 14001 & 45001 – SOMS Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Standards.
- Adhere to the Thorburn Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management System’s Policies and Procedures as applicable to this position.
- Perform any reasonable action requested by management.
Control
- Manage wage control, including overtime.
- Manage contract contributions in line with the budget forecast.
Effective Organisation
- Analyze staff turnover to ensure proper allocation of employees in line with contract/site requirements.
- Manage rosters and shift patterns effectively in accordance with PRP.
- Manage time & attendance, including overtime, annual, and sick leave.
Supervision
- Provide employee engagement platforms, including parade attendance.
- Conduct regular performance assessments and provide corrective feedback to subordinate employees.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the code of conduct and relevant legislation.
- Deploy PSIRA-registered officers at the sites.
- Ensure armed responses under supervision are certified in accordance with Regulation 21.
Client Retention & Customer Service
- Deliver customer service in accordance with SLAs to retain clients.
- Conduct regular service audits and implement corrective actions for gaps.
- Resolve customer queries promptly.
- Maintain open communication with clients following escalation procedures.
Skills and Competencies
- Leadership and management of subordinates.
- Dispute resolution and conflict management.
- Verbal & written communication skills.
- Management of labour relations.
- Working knowledge of financial statements.
- Extensive knowledge and at least 2 years of experience with Online Intelligence System (Ciims).
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Security Management Certificate / Diploma.
- PSIRA Grade A certificate.
- Valid driver’s license; own vehicle considered an advantage.
