Our client in the Financial Services and Insurance industry is looking for their next Data Scientist! This role is available in both JHB and CT.

Responsibilities

1. Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
2. Preprocess structured and unstructured data
3. Analyze large datasets to discover trends and patterns
4. Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms
5. Combine models through ensemble modeling
6. Present information using data visualization techniques
7. Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
8. Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

Requirements

1. Experience in data mining
2. Understanding of machine learning and operations research
3. Analytical mindset and business acumen
4. Strong math skills (e.g., statistics, algebra)
5. Problem-solving aptitude
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills
7. BSc in Mathematics or Statistics
8. Minimum 5 years of experience in the modeling industry
