Job description

Conduct high-quality guided activities such as game drives, bush walks, or cultural tours, providing guests with engaging and informative experiences.

• Guest Interaction

Build strong rapport with guests, answer questions with expertise, and tailor experiences to individual interests and expectations.

• Mentorship and Support

Assist in mentoring junior or trainee guides, offering guidance, feedback, and knowledge sharing to help develop their skills.

• Safety and Compliance

Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with lodge policies and national park or conservation regulations.

• Wildlife Knowledge and Interpretation

Demonstrate expert knowledge of local wildlife, plants, geography, and conservation practices, offering insightful commentary during excursions.

• Vehicle and Equipment Care

Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on game drive vehicles and guiding equipment (e.g., radios, binoculars, rifles if applicable).

• Reporting and Documentation

Maintain accurate logs of sightings, guest activities, incidents, and equipment checks; report any issues to management or the Head Guide.

• Guest Feedback and Problem Solving

Handle guest concerns related to guided activities professionally and escalate complex issues when needed.

• Conservation Advocacy

Promote responsible tourism and conservation awareness among guests and peers.

• Coordination with Other Departments
• Communicate with lodge management, housekeeping, and kitchen teams to coordinate guest schedules and activity logistics.
