A leading company is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join their BAS Technical team in Centurion. The role involves administering and optimizing databases on DB2 for z/OS mainframe, ensuring high performance and reliability. Client & Project : We are seeking a new talent to join the BAS Technical team in Centurion.
The project is for the National Treasury, a government agency responsible for managing the country's finances and economic policies.
As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for administering, optimizing, monitoring, and fine-tuning databases on DB2 for z/OS mainframe.
Your duties include designing, implementing, maintaining databases, backup/recovery, and configuration management across multiple teams or clients.
Additional responsibilities involve installing DBMS, contributing to procedure and documentation modifications for problem resolution and daily maintenance, engaging with teams for key decisions, and providing solutions to issues within your team and beyond.
Mastery of IBM DB2 Database Administration is essential.
Advanced skills in IBM z/OS, Database Optimization & Tuning, and Database Performance Management, along with intermediate skills in IBM Db2 QMF and JCL, are recommended.
You will develop strategies for database performance optimization, conduct regular monitoring and analysis, collaborate on database solutions, and stay updated with the latest in database administration.
You will also provide technical guidance, manage TSO user-ids and privileges, monitor production reports, support end-users in MVS environments, assist with Release Management, review SQL code, perform standby duties, and analyze/setup DB2 tables and VSAM files.
