Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Backup Engineer.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and software certifications required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the installation and administration of IBM Spectrum Protect and Veeam Enterprise Backup Software
• Implementing and maintaining backup retention policies in line with business requirements
• Implementing, maintaining and documenting recovery procedures aligned to DR policy
• Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Yearly backups monitoring and health checks
• Problem resolution and fault finding
• Ensuring that security standards are adhered to
• Testing and evaluating new backup software and hardware features
• Providing support and technical advice operationally and for projects

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or software certifications
• A minimum of 5 years relevant Back Engineer experience

Skills:

• IBM Spectrum Protect and Veeam Backup software
• Network protocols (TCP/IP), Windows
• Redhat Linux - and AIX Unix Server Systems
• Technical Project Management
• ITIL or similar service management principles
• Familiarity with VMWare ESX be an advantage
