Overview
Purpose of the Job:
To process and manage various retirement fund claims and related administrative tasks efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and internal procedures.
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential
- Certificate in Introduction Retirement Funds (COP) / Certificate in Financial Planning or equivalent – Advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in fund processing within a retirement administration environment
- Claims processing and contributions experience - Essential
Key performance areas
Processing of Various Types of Claims
- Perform and process withdrawal, retirement, death claims, paid-up, deferred, preserved, and unclaimed claims
- Record claims on the system within 48 hours of receipt if not submitted online by the employer, following approved procedures
- Review daily Khanya reports and address issues promptly
- Ensure claims are paid within the timeframes specified in the service level agreement
Housing Loans
- Request settlement values for flagged members on the Khanya system
- Ensure loan payments are processed within agreed timeframes
Preparing Reports for Client Meetings
- Accurately prepare claims reports according to standards and submit to the designated checker by the due date
Recognition of Transfers
- Prepare and distribute Recognition of Transfer documents as per member instructions and procedures
Financial Year-End Preparation
- Prepare documents/files for year-end audits and ensure they are stored on SharePoint for easy access
Risk Reports
- Review daily Khanya risk reports and coordinate with specialists or managers for timely action
Daily Tasks
- Manage unallocated deposits, hold/unprocessed switches, returned payments, errored claims, and other daily operational tasks
Weekly Tasks
- Update claims in progress reports and ensure no outdated narratives remain
Monthly Tasks
- Generate client claim reports, reconcile terminated records, investigate reporting issues, and trace members with unpaid or unclaimed benefits
Other Tasks
- Capture manual claims within 48 hours, manage central mailbox emails, update claim narratives, generate daily reports, follow up on claims advice dates, and perform other business-related tasks as required
