Job summary

A leading company in IT services is seeking candidates for a technical support role. The position involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring effective service delivery. Ideal candidates will have relevant certifications and experience in IT support, with a strong focus on customer service and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Up to 2 years practical experience (Level 1).
  • 2-3 years practical experience (Level 2).
  • At least 5 years practical experience (Level 3). Solid VOIP Skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware and software calls within required Service Levels.
  • Travel to customer sites and maintain vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software applications.

Job description

Positions Specification
  • Minimum level required to perform the job
  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
  • Qualification A+ Certification (Lvl 1), Qualification A+ and N+ Certification (Lvl 2), Qualification A+ and N+ Certification, MCSE / CCNA (Lvl 3)
Minimum Requirements
  • Up to 2 years practical experience (Level 1)
  • 2-3 years practical experience (Level 2)
  • At least 5 years practical experience (Level 3). Solid VOIP Skills
  • Ability to diagnose and repair hardware and software on desktops and notebooks
  • Working knowledge/exposure to various models of printers
  • Must be customer focused and have effective productivity/work output
  • Administration, stock control ability
  • Must pass security clearance (if required by the customer)
  • Able to assist with standby after hours
  • Valid/Legal driver’s license
Key Tasks
  • Perform hardware and software calls within required Service Levels following company procedures
  • Travel to customer sites and maintain vehicles to be available
  • Complete job cards/electronic systems and sign stock receipts as required
  • Identify opportunities to grow the business of the company
  • Ensure safekeeping of stock under control
  • File all administration in accordance with company policy
  • Perform monthly stock takes after hours with management
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, routers, switches, telephones, environmental units (UPS, surge protection systems, etc.), and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
Self Development
  • Responsible for self-development by keeping abreast of new developments following applicable processes and procedures
  • Perform any ad hoc functions required by management from time to time
