Job Description

Team Leadership: Responsible for supporting the broader region, including supervision of advisors and contractors. Integrate with civil engineering and design functions globally. Develop and expand technical infrastructure and processes to optimize civil designs and support the design base. Optimize civil layouts and related designs for ESA projects (Wind, PV, Storage, PtX). Execute civil engineering design in development and pre-construction project delivery through to detailed design and commercial operation.

Support and Development: Contribute to Employer's Requirements and construction contracts, including RfP development, bid evaluation, contractor selection, and technical schedule development. Support civil design base development for South African/regional projects, including reports, drawings, bills of quantities, cost estimates, standards, and site assessments.

Commercial and Project Management: Demonstrate commercial awareness, understanding project budgets, cost control, and financial aspects. Collaborate with commercial teams for cost-effective design solutions. Provide project civil engineering and design inputs, including conceptual, preliminary, and final designs.

Public Relations and Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with authorities, communities, and government to secure permits. Engage stakeholders and municipalities on civil layouts and innovative approaches. Represent ENERTRAG in industry forums and working groups.

Qualifications: Degree in Engineering (Civil or related), Construction, or similar. 0-2 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in renewable energy or infrastructure projects. Progress towards Professional Registration (Engineering Council of South Africa) is advantageous. Skills include civil infrastructure design, GIS, AutoCAD, knowledge of local standards, and standards compliance.
