Job description

• Safely operate a vehicle to transport goods, equipment, to and from various locations within Johannesburg and surrounding areas.

Route Planning :

• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely delivery or pickup, taking into account traffic conditions and client needs.

Loading / Unloading :

• Assist with the loading and unloading of goods or equipment, ensuring that items are secured and handled properly.

Vehicle Maintenance :

• Regularly check and maintain the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, including basic inspections and reporting any issues.

Documentation :

• Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery notes, proof of delivery, and vehicle logs, to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Customer Interaction :

• Provide excellent customer service, communicate with clients and customers in a professional manner, and address any inquiries or issues as they arise.

Compliance :

• Ensure adherence to all local traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while on duty.

Qualifications & Requirements :

• Valid Driver's License : A valid South African driver's license, typically 10 depending on the vehicle.
• Experience : Previous driving experience, with a clean driving record (minimum 1-2 years).
• Physical Fitness : Ability to handle physical tasks like loading and unloading goods.
• Local Knowledge : Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns in the Johannesburg area.
• Communication Skills : Strong verbal communication skills for interaction with clients and team members.
• Punctuality & Reliability : Consistently demonstrate the ability to manage time and work independently.

Preferred Skills :

• Advanced Driving Skills : Experience with larger vehicles or specialized driving equipment can be an advantage.
