Purpose Of The Job

The purpose of the job is to develop, implement, and monitor the healthcare strategy for clients, aligning with the Alexforbes Health approach. Responsibilities include ensuring client retention, providing high-quality service, identifying new business opportunities, and sharing industry developments with clients. The role involves coordinating relevant stakeholders, managing service consultants, and identifying growth opportunities.

Key performance areas
  • Manage medical scheme membership retention
  • Drive new business growth in Gap and primary care memberships
  • Ensure client satisfaction and maintain a customer-oriented approach
  • Collaborate across AF Group divisions to deliver value
  • Manage client relationships and provide consulting services
  • Build strategic partnerships
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and industry regulations
Financial
  • Manage profit and loss for services to clients, with approval from the Consulting Manager
  • Maintain and grow the existing client base
  • Handle invoicing for additional work outside the annual plan
  • Identify opportunities for growth and cross-selling within clients
  • Manage costs related to travel, accommodation, and other expenses
  • Ensure quarterly income confirmation and timely client updates
  • Notify management of expenses and any errors/omissions
  • Manage wellness fund budgets accurately where applicable
Clients
  • Build and maintain credible relationships with stakeholders
  • Conduct client satisfaction surveys and audits
  • Manage client expectations through regular communication
  • Draft and present strategy reports as per SLAs
  • Develop annual plans with clients and ensure service delivery
  • Stay informed on legislative and industry changes and communicate their impact
  • Handle client calls professionally and prepare client communications
  • Manage billing statements, reconciliations, and Service consultant deliverables
  • Report regularly to the Consulting Manager on client matters
  • Assist the Consulting Manager with shared clients
Compliance to internal processes
  • Ensure client data is properly stored and archived
  • Monitor and resolve client queries and application forms
  • Maintain and update client databases and communication materials
  • Ensure invitations to events are sent timely and followed up
  • Prepare customized reports for clients
  • Save all client documents and correspondence on SharePoint
  • Achieve high compliance audit ratings
  • Manage client communications and meeting documentation
  • Follow scheme protocols and update scheme-related data
  • Maintain complaints and gift registers
Project Management
  • Contribute to business development and project initiatives
  • Manage year-end projects, including communication, presentations, and reports
People
  • Transfer skills and knowledge to Service Consultants
  • Participate in performance appraisals and training
  • Engage in continuous learning and self-development
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, or a 3-year diploma
  • 120 FAIS Credits (e.g., FPI, Wealth Management)
  • Specific subjects: Long Term Category A, Short Term Personal Lines, and Health Benefits
  • Regulatory Exam 1
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Healthcare Industry
  • At least 2 years’ experience in healthcare client consulting
  • Knowledge of healthcare products and legislation
  • Strong client management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
