Finance Assistant
Job description
Our client based in Mount Edgecombe is seeking an experienced finance assistant to join their growing team.
Responsibilities:
Debtors Management:
- Send monthly statements to customers
- Reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy
- Handle customer queries regarding payments promptly and professionally
- Follow up on overdue payments and escalate as necessary.
Creditors Management:
- Perform monthly reconciliations of supplier accounts
- Accurately capture supplier invoices on SAGE software
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments to suppliers.
Forex Management:
- Assist with tasks involving foreign currency transactions and conversions.
Administrative Support:
- Draft professional letters, memos, and other correspondence as needed.
- Maintain organized filing systems for finance-related documents.
- Perform general administrative duties to support the finance department.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in using SAGE accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of debtors and creditors processes.
- Familiarity with forex transactions and associated regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to think quickly and make sound decisions.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
