Purpose of the Role

To oversee all aspects of vehicle loading for Own-fleet and 3rd party transporters across storage facilities nationwide, including scheduling, route planning, and product movement within Logistics. The role ensures optimal utilization of Sasol assets and external resources, balancing speed, responsiveness, and cost efficiency.

To facilitate effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless outbound logistics operations. The Logistics Operations Manager manages distribution activities for white products, heating fuels, and lubricants, including personnel and third-party logistics providers, while ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations related to the transportation of dangerous goods.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Management

• Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and governance standards.
• Lead initiatives for performance improvement, cost efficiency, and safety.
• Manage and develop distribution teams and drivers.
• Maintain budgets and optimize distribution activities.
• Collaborate with technology providers for process improvements.
• Develop and implement operational systems and procedures.

Service Provider Management

• Oversee procurement, compliance, and safety of distribution activities.
• Manage SLAs and relationships with 3PL providers.

Additional Responsibilities

• Capacity planning and hazard mitigation.
• Operational reporting and continuous improvement.
• Inventory management and contribution to Sasol's financial performance.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have extensive logistics/distribution management experience, excellent communication skills, and strong stakeholder management capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree; Post-Graduate Diploma or Master's in Business Administration preferred.
• Minimum of 9+ years relevant experience.
