Join Our Team as a Contract Manager I
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and results-driven Contract Manager I to oversee Warehousing and Transport Operations within a high-pressure, Just-In-Time (JIT) environment.

Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Road Transport, Logistics, Warehousing, or Management with a financial focus.
- 5–7 years' experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, and Warehousing Distribution.
- Proven experience in strategic planning (1-year outlook).
- In-depth knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control (FIFO), Fuel & Equipment Maintenance Management (MHE, Yellow Equipment, Vehicles), Budgeting & Expense Control, HR Management, Labour Relations & Bargaining Council Agreements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and performance management skills.
- Experience using WMS, TMS, and ERP systems (JDE experience advantageous).
- Ability to manage operations 24/7.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations and contract execution across transport and warehouse functions.
- Maintain robust processes for production line clearance, stock receiving, quality control, and routing.
- Optimize vehicle and driver utilization to meet delivery targets and reduce downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and customer-specific loading/offloading procedures.
- Drive client engagement and manage expectations through regular interactions and KPI reporting (Power BI).
- Handle client escalations proactively, ensuring satisfaction and operational alignment.
- Plan and attend client entertainment and engagement activities when required.
- Manage operational budgets, forecasts, and cost controls effectively.
- Authorize supplier payments and ensure accurate cost allocation.
- Analyze and report on kilometers traveled, fuel usage, and contract profitability.
- Lead health, safety, and quality initiatives on site.
- Conduct regular audits on workplace, vehicles, and staff compliance with PPE and hygiene standards.
- Maintain accident reports and oversee insurance claims processes.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate team performance.
- Conduct performance reviews, set targets, and manage development plans.
- Recruit, train, and ensure Employment Equity and skills development alignment.
- Handle grievances and maintain thorough HR documentation and reports.
