Job description

Junior Business Partner

M+C Saatchi Group are looking for a qualified or part qualified Junior Business Partner to join the finance team in our Cape Town office. You’ll need to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in month end reporting, along with exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Location: Cape Town – Hybrid

About The Role

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner (based in London) this role will help drive group cost management & visibility across a 30million £ central cost base, across circa 25 cost centres.

Working very closely with the cost centre managers (UK based) & transactional team (based in CT), this role will drive accurate & timely reporting on central costs, whilst developing cost centre managers to become more proactive on the management of their cost base & instilling confidence in the underlying data (actuals, budget & forecast).

Responsibilities

Daily/Monthly Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Month End accounting & review.
  • Support with forecasting, and controlling costs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Working with cost centre managers to review costs.
  • Support with identifying cost-saving opportunities and risks.
  • Cost management information.
  • Balance Sheet Review & commentary reporting.
  • Cash Flow management & forecasting.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and variance analyses.
  • Working with team in SSC to ensure accurate & reliable reporting.
  • Support with adhoc project work.

About You

You’ll have the following:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance role, with minimum of 2 years’ experience in month end accounting.
  • Part qualified or qualified by experience
  • Solid understanding of finance reporting, accounting standards, and financial issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • While business partnering experience is not required, the ability to develop this skill is essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A great team player and ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance colleagues.
  • Advanced Excel a must with a working knowledge of NetSuite advantageous
  • Proficiency inPower BI useful but not essential
  • Fluent English language - both written and spoken
