A leading engineering and industrial services company is seeking a qualified Millwright with a strong electrical bias to join their site-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial equipment, ensuring operational continuity, and supporting project requirements. This role requires a qualified individual with significant experience in leadership and technical competencies, particularly in hydraulics and electrical systems.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience post-trade.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Valid driver's license; willing to travel.

Job description

Location : Various project and site locations (travel and remote work required)

Industry : Engineering Services / Remote Demolition & Industrial Projects

Salary : Market-Related (based on experience and qualifications)

Start Date : ASAPA leading engineering and industrial services company is looking to appoint a qualified Millwright with strong electrical bias to join its site-based team.

The successful candidate will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, attend to breakdowns, and support project continuity by ensuring equipment remains operational, with a focus on remote-controlled hydraulic demolition equipment.

Requirements :
  • Qualified Red Seal Millwright
  • 5+ years' experience post-trade
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or team supervisory role
  • Strong electrical competency (Wireman's License advantageous)
  • Solid working knowledge of hydraulics and MCC systems
  • Experience in equipment fault finding, maintenance and repair
  • Valid driver's licence – willing to travel and work remotely on site
  • Experience with remote-controlled Brokk machines will be advantageous
Key Responsibilities :
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance and repairs on heavy industrial equipment
  • Inspect and certify equipment before and after project deployment
  • Attend to emergency breakdowns and perform first-line fault finding
  • Ensure equipment availability, optimal utilisation, and condition monitoring
  • Conduct assessments and report to the Operations Manager
  • Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and MCC panels
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely, efficiently, and within timeframes
