Job Function
The Senior Manager will be part of the dedicated team based at the Client’s offices in Vanderbijlpark. The role involves implementing an LLP solution with control tower capabilities to serve as an integrated platform for efficient tactical planning of road logistics around rail availability and capacity. The executive will be responsible for identifying savings opportunities, implementing them, and tracking financial baseline, savings, and gainshare realization.
Key Performance Areas
Commercial
- Identify and implement efficiency initiatives to reduce the client's cost baseline
- Financial tracking of baseline, savings, and gainshare
- Ensure profitability of the account, analyze variances
- Complete budgets and quarterly reforecasts
- Provide monthly revenue projections
- Control costs in line with operational requirements
- Review client invoicing and debt collection
- Manage account administration and reporting
- Drive gainshare commercial activities with stakeholders
Client Relationship Management
- Understand the client’s business and identify value-add opportunities
- Develop strategies with the client to meet needs
- Maintain relationships with key decision-makers
- Build trust and cooperation within the client’s organization
- Advocate for client needs within the company
People Management
- Staff the business unit appropriately
- Retain and develop key talent
- Manage performance of team members
- Create a positive, motivated culture
- Build relationships with clients and staff, exceeding expectations
Performance Management
- Achieve business results through balanced scorecard implementation
Reporting
- Develop and communicate reports
- Ensure report quality
- Deliver accurate, timely operational and financial reports highlighting risks and opportunities
- Present at Steerco meetings
Quality Management
- Document and manage systems and controls
- Manage business processes for system accuracy and operational standards
- Collaborate with technology teams
Administration
- Complete personnel administration accurately and timely
- Review processes for compliance and risk management
- Ensure environmental and health & safety standards are met
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement supply chain optimization projects
- Track and report savings
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Secure client approval for baselines and savings recognition
Ad hoc
- Perform analysis, queries, and provide business support
Projects
- Identify improvement areas and manage project delivery
General
- Interact with operations, contact center, client, and 3PLs
Additional Tasks
- Data analysis, simulation, transport modeling, business case development, project planning, process implementation, mapping, and presentation creation
Qualifications
- B Eng in Industrial Engineering or B Com in Logistics
Experience and Skills
- 5-10 years in Supply Chain or related fields; logistics experience preferred
- Industrial experience beneficial
- Advanced MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel skills
- Project management and SQL experience advantageous
- Transport routing and scheduling experience beneficial
- Strong analytical skills, high-pressure resilience, multitasking ability
- Leadership, communication, attention to detail, proactive attitude
