Your role will be crucial in the regional IT team to adhere to safety requirements and governance. The Safety Administration Officer will draw up plans and schedules to audit and update safety documentation and procedures. The Safety Administration Officer will conduct safety audits and inspections of the workplace and provide guidance and training to team members to promote a safe working environment. The Safety Administration Officer will strive to implement a culture to prevent safety incidents from happening, but properly investigate any safety incidents that do occur, putting preventative actions in place to prevent a recurrence.
Responsibilities will include:
Set up and attend Health and Safety meetings.
Schedule and drive safety packs to completion.
Create safety procedures aligned with Company safety guidelines and governance.
Audit safety documentation to ensure alignment with governance and best practices.
Conduct regular risk assessment workshops with technical team members.
Ensure staff is well trained in safety requirements.
Promote safety in the workplace to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct safety incidents to completion by utilizing proper root cause analysis methods like Fishbone, Kepner Tregoe, or 5 Why.
Implement safety incident prevention processes to prevent safety incidents.
Provide regular safety reports to management to report on the team’s safety performance and alignment with workplace safety policies and procedures.
Work with a team to automate management tasks, streamline processes, and perform standard administration functions as needed.
Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support.
Follow up with customers, provide feedback, and see problems through to resolution.
Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure.
Stay abreast of advances in the safety environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Maintain professionalism, good attitude, and appropriate behaviour with OT personnel, clients, and vendors.
Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly workplace/office.
Be presentable and clean daily.
Lead by example, be flexible, and be willing to work overtime and time as requested by management.
Be open-minded in collecting the info needed to complete tasks if no SOP is in place.
Have a positive attitude towards your work.
Show initiative and share it with relevant management and co-workers.
Communication is a priority.
Propose workable solutions and improvements.
Self-starter who requires minimal supervision and can provide oversight for any assigned projects.
Requirements:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of Root cause analysis processes.
Good understanding of Safety legal and liability concepts.
Good leadership specifically around being a safety leader.
Good report writing and general administrative skills.
Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
