An established industry player is seeking a skilled Artisan to support production through maintenance and project activities. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure high standards of workmanship while performing essential tasks such as equipment maintenance, breakdown response, and installation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, demonstrating expertise in technical drawing interpretation and hands-on skills in pipe work and welding. Purpose of Role:
To perform the maintenance and project activities in support of production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensuring production specs and procedure are followed by operation.
• Day to day workshop duties (work orders, stores and safety checks).
• Carry out maintenance on production equipment to set standards.
• Attend to breakdowns.
• Refurbish exchange units.
• Maintaining safety, hygiene and house-keeping standards.
• Lock out all machines before working on it.
• Ensuring all guarding is adequate and secure.
• Installation of production equipment.
• Work to industry standard.
• Ensure all reasonable requests are carried out without delay.
• Do shift work and overtime as and when required within reason.
• Ensure that high standard of workmanship is maintained.
Qualifications:
• Grade 12 plus Qualified Artisan – Red Seal (Fitter, Millwright, Fitter & Turner).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG).
Knowledge:
• FMCG experience a must.
• Be able to read and fault find from technical drawings.
Experience:
• Experience or training in conducting effective Root Cause Analysis & problem solving would be an advantage.
• Experience in pipe work, welding, rigging and machine installation is essential.
Competencies:
• Be competent in reading and understanding technical drawings
• Good people relationships and communication at different levels.
• Be self-motivated team player with a high level of commitment and drive.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Good attendance and timekeeping.
