A leading company in Pretoria is seeking a Labour Relations Specialist to facilitate grievance resolution, manage misconduct processes, and provide administrative support. The role requires strong knowledge in Labour Relations and experience in a relevant environment. You will be responsible for drafting reports, coordinating meetings, and advising management on labour policies.
Facilitate and resolve grievances within applicable timeframes.
Facilitate labour-related programmes, collective bargaining, grievance resolution, and dispute management processes promptly within the principles of the law.
Conduct and compile grievance investigation reports.
Facilitate disputes at GPSSBC.
Provide support in terms of preparation during the disputes proceedings.
Misconduct Management
Facilitate and implement misconduct and disciplinary processes within applicable timeframes.
Representation and Reporting
Represent the Department and draft reports.
Compile statistical submissions/reports on identified trends regarding misconduct and dispute matters.
Administrative Support
Draft documents and perform administrative tasks for effective unit performance.
Conduct basic research on trends in Employment Relations.
Logistical Support
Provide logistical support to procure goods or services.
Coordinate meetings, information sessions, and workshops to create awareness and understanding of employee relations policies and procedures, ensuring distribution of meeting packs.
Follow up on actions, ensure timely submission of information, and maintain ER records.
Coordinate and implement resolutions and labour policies.
Assist in compiling monthly management reports with recommendations.
Update and maintain databases on disciplinary cases, grievances, suspensions, appeals, and other conflict cases.
Coordinate the updating and submission of risk reports.
Capture labour relations cases in Persal and other relevant systems.
Provide functional advice and technical guidance to employees and management.
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years qualification (NQF level 6) in Labour Relations, Labour Law, Human Resources Management, Human Resources Development, Industrial Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a relevant qualification.
Understanding and application of Departmental policies on Labour Relations.
Client orientation and understanding of labour relations processes.
Training and Experience
Sufficient training and exposure in Labour Relations.
At least 2 years of experience within a labour relations environment.
