Interwaste, a leader in waste management solutions across Southern Africa, is seeking a seasoned Brand and Marketing Manager to join our team at the Germiston branch. With a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence, Interwaste is dedicated to creating a better future by transforming waste challenges into impactful opportunities.

Role Overview

The Brand and Marketing Manager develops and executes marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, reputation, and business growth for Interwaste, a leading waste management company and subsidiary of Seche, a global organization.

Key responsibilities include managing brand identity, media relations, graphic design, brand awareness campaigns, and digital marketing initiatives. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills to effectively promote the brand and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Brand Management
  • Develop and maintain the Interwaste brand identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints, aligned with Seche's global brand guidelines.
  • Manage brand guidelines and standards, ensuring all marketing materials adhere to the brand's visual identity, tone, and messaging.
  • Monitor brand reputation by tracking and analyzing brand mentions, sentiment, and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  1. Marketing Strategy and Planning
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive business growth, increase brand awareness, and enhance reputation.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
  • Create and manage marketing plans and budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and ROI measurement.
  1. Media Relations
  • Build and maintain relationships with media representatives to secure coverage and product placements.
  • Craft and distribute press releases and media kits to communicate key messages.
  • Manage media inquiries and interviews, ensuring timely responses.
  1. Graphic Design and Visual Content
  • Support marketing initiatives through graphic design, photography, and videography.
  • Manage design projects and collaborate with designers and vendors to meet brand standards.
  1. Brand Awareness and Communications
  • Develop campaigns to increase brand visibility.
  • Create engaging content for various channels.
  • Manage internal communications to keep employees informed and engaged.
  1. Digital Marketing
  • Implement digital marketing strategies to drive website traffic and conversions.
  • Manage digital channels such as email and social media.
  • Analyze digital metrics to optimize campaigns.
  1. Performance Measurement and Analysis
  • Track and analyze marketing metrics to assess effectiveness.
  • Gather customer feedback and conduct market research.
  • Provide regular reports on marketing performance and ROI.
Health and Safety

Drive the company's Zero Harm policy, ensure compliance with health & safety requirements, and uphold SHEQ policies and procedures.

Communication and Feedback

Notify superiors of relevant matters, handle personnel issues, and inform management of staff-related concerns promptly.

Mentorship and Skills Transfer

Upskill colleagues, provide training, and ensure mentorship and coaching are ongoing.

Additional Duties

Perform other duties as required, including covering workload gaps during absences, as determined by management.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of marketing experience with a proven record of successful strategies.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with marketing tools and software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Marketing or related field.
  • Experience in the waste management industry.
  • Marketing certification.
