Our client, a leader in their industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting and compliance, drive strategic financial planning, and lead a high-performing finance team.

Senior Accountant - Nelspruit Area

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare accurate financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
2. Conduct in-depth financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
3. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
4. Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
5. Lead budgeting and variance analysis across departments.
6. Ensure compliance with IFRS / GAAP, tax legislation, and audit standards.
7. Serve as liaison during internal and external audits.
8. Improve accounting systems, internal controls, and financial procedures.
9. Monitor cash flow and forecast future requirements.
10. Mentor and supervise finance staff.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum 5 years' accounting experience, with at least 2 in a senior role.
3. Strong knowledge of IFRS / GAAP and South African tax laws.
4. Packhouse or agricultural sector experience is advantageous.
5. Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and leadership skills.
6. Proficiency in financial systems and Excel.
