The Flexographic Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Key Performance Areas:

1. Coordinate the activities of the Print Assistant, Floater, and Make Ready Crew.
2. Ensure all Health and Safety Rules are always complied with.
3. Ensure pre-make, make-ready, and setup processes are completed efficiently to produce products that meet all specifications at maximum speed while minimizing waste.
4. Perform quality checks to ensure products conform to all specifications.
5. Adhere to ISO 22000 (where applicable) Environmental Management Systems policies, procedures, and SOPs.
6. Log all events affecting the machine during a shift accurately, including duration, description, product, and quality.
7. Report and carry out required machine maintenance.
8. Lubricate machines as per scheduled standards.
9. Execute tasks assigned by the production shift leader or manager effectively.
10. Maintain operational efficiencies at all times.
11. Be open to multi-skilling.

Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements

• Matric Certificate.
• Qualified Flexographic Printer.
• High levels of accuracy.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to perceive the full range of colors.
• Willing and able to work required shifts.
• Reasonable numeracy skills; accurate record keeping.
• Ability to communicate in English, including reading and neat handwriting.
• Problem-solving ability.
• Flexibility.
• Accountability and responsibility.
• Must be a reliable, disciplined, physically fit team player attentive to detail.
