Logistics Coordinator Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing international exports and imports, ensuring efficient and compliant shipment processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Exports: Receive international enquiries, investigate destinations, and find solutions to deliver shipments to clients.
- Imports: Receive orders and ensure all processes are followed to deliver stock to warehouses.
- Investigate foreign country requirements for shipments.
- Liaise with various supply chain operational divisions within and outside the company, including warehouse, manufacturing, planning, and transport.
- Oversee the smooth dispatch of shipments from origin to destination.
- Communicate with product management teams to assess supply capabilities and import requirements.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure efficient processes, considering various risks.
- Quote customers promptly and coordinate with administrators to process sales orders; obtain quotes for import shipments as needed.
- Manage all import documentation such as shipping notices, bills of lading, letters of credit, and ensure compliance with country requirements and regulations.
- Ensure all costs are investigated and shipping arrangements stay within budget.
- Manage shipping department staff effectively.
- Guide administrative staff on regulations and documentation requirements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, company, SHEQ policies, and procedures.
