Job summary

Requirements
  • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner and proof of current registration.
  • A minimum of three (3) years appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Passing FCS Neurosurgery Primaries will be an added advantage.
Duties
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including inpatient and outpatient services, and after-hours care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary consultations and manage patient referrals with other healthcare facilities.
  • Participate in the specialist training program for the MMed in Neurology and sit for fellowship examinations at the end of the training.
  • Provide teaching and supervision of undergraduate students.

  • This position is a joint appointment between the Gauteng Department of Health and academic institutions such as the University of Witwatersrand, University of Pretoria, and Sefako Makgatho University.
