Maintenance Engineer (Steel Manufacturing) – Stikland, Cape Town

A well-established Manufacturing Engineering company is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town.

Position Requirements:

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12
  • B. TECH Mechanical
  • Own reliable transport
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in steel manufacturing is beneficial
  • Proven track record of managing artisans

Position Responsibilities:

  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly KPAs, including equipment uptime, artisan performance, machine fault finding, scheduled maintenance, safety compliance, costs control, vendor management, asset management, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee maintenance team, assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure efficient execution of maintenance activities.
  • Motivate and empower team members for organizational improvements.
  • Analyze data to identify solutions and generate innovative ideas for process enhancement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and overall production efficiency.
  • Develop strategies aligned with organizational goals, plan activities, and manage time effectively.
  • Work productively under stress, control emotions, and handle criticism constructively.
  • Train maintenance staff on safe procedures, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.
