Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Community Program Manager to lead and scale social impact initiatives in East London, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on development, delivery, and evaluation of community programs, requiring strategic planning, team leadership, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in the non-profit or community development sector.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, project management, and team leadership.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant writing, and budget management.
• Strong understanding of community needs and development challenges in South Africa, particularly the Eastern Cape.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to analyze data and produce insightful reports on program impact.
• Proficiency in project management software and standard office applications.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills in dynamic community settings.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within East London and surrounding areas.
• Passion for social justice and community empowerment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for community programs.
• Manage all aspects of program lifecycle, from design and funding to implementation and evaluation.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of program coordinators and staff.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, government agencies, and partner organizations.
• Oversee program budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial accountability.
• Develop and manage grant proposals and funding applications.
• Monitor program performance, collect data, and prepare comprehensive reports on outcomes and impact.
• Ensure programs meet community needs and align with organizational mission and values.
• Identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, and collaboration.
• Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and forums.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement within the program teams.
