Job summary

Farm Manager SA is seeking an experienced, hands-on Workshop Foreman/Manager in the Wartburg area, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, to take responsibility for the workshop and the maintenance and repair of our earthmoving fleet. The role requires strong mechanical and fault-finding skills, leadership to supervise staff, and the ability to manage schedules, parts usage and costs while ensuring service quality.

Candidates should have at least 6 years of relevant experience, be computer literate, hold

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years' relevant experience – essential.
  • Strong diesel mechanical, hydraulic and fault-finding skills.
  • Earthmoving/heavy equipment experience preferred.
  • Previous workshop foreman, management or leadership experience preferred.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and isiZulu.
  • Strong leadership and staff-management ability.
  • Good planning, organisation and maintenance administration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop.
  • Supervise and allocate work to workshop staff.
  • Oversee repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Manage service schedules and maintenance records.
  • Control parts usage and workshop costs.
  • Coordinate breakdown repairs.
  • Report on fleet condition and upcoming maintenance requirements.
