Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Contributing to planning and support delivery of a high quality early years curriculum, including a full commitment to anti-discriminatory practice. This involves daily, weekly, and termly planning to meet individual children's needs and interests, along with record keeping to track each child's development.
  2. Promoting children’s development within a secure, safe, and stimulating environment, adhering to good practice curriculum guidance suitable for the children’s ages and stages of development.
  3. Providing input to the assessment of children’s overall development, including observations, recording achievements, and maintaining developmental records to a high standard.
  4. Supporting colleagues in their responsibilities as key workers for specific groups of children, ensuring smooth transitions from home to centre and from centre to school.
  5. Managing children's behaviour effectively in line with procedural guidance and implementing planned interventions for children with additional needs.
  6. Providing appropriate physical care, including washing, toileting, changing, feeding, dressing, comforting, and administering medication.
  7. Working with due regard to Child Protection procedures and reporting concerns to centre managers.
  8. Assisting with organizing outings for children’s interest, education, and enjoyment, ensuring safety throughout.

Requirements:

  • Early Years Education and Childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children aged 2 to 5 in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Passion for creating a positive and supportive learning environment for young children.
  • Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months. If you are on the update service, you could be fast-tracked through our recruitment process.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if not currently held.

Notes:

  • Setting open all year round, 51 weeks.
  • Holidays can be taken within or outside of term time.
  • Immediate start.
  • Full-time position.
