Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Educator & Learning Support Assistant for a reputable childcare facility in Rustenburg, North West. You will work with lead educators to support the curriculum and help children learn and stay safe.

The role focuses on delivering age-appropriate activities, observing progress, and communicating with families. A relevant ECD qualification and a patient, team-focused attitude are preferred; background checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Qualification in ECD or related field preferred.
• Experience in childcare or educational support with young children.
• Patient, caring and responsible demeanor.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of child development principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering engaging, age-appropriate educational programs.
• Provide individualized support to children needing extra help.
• Supervise playtime, meals and rest periods, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Maintain a clean, organized and stimulating classroom environment.
• Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by the lead educator.
• Observe and record children's progress and development and report concerns.
• Communicate with colleagues, parents and guardians regarding children's activities.
• Support implementation of classroom management strategies.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Participate in staff training and development activities.
