Purpose of Position:

To process specimens according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Microbiology Laboratory and to provide training to the employees on all benches.

Requirements:
  • HPCSA registration: Independent Practice Microbiology
  • HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field
  • National Diploma: Biomedical Technology
Required Experience:
  • Experiential training in a training laboratory
  • Knowledge of Ampath Microbiology document system
  • Knowledge of HPCSA regulations
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath
  • Perform administration tasks to ensure effective laboratory administration systems
  • Perform QC procedures to uphold best practices
  • Process routine bench work to ensure efficient specimen processing
  • Provide technical support to ensure efficient flow of specimens and timely results
