What You’ll Do

Join our culinary team as a Cook to prepare wholesome, family-style meals that bring joy to residents, visitors, and employees every day.

Position Details

15 Craigside

Full-Time (40 hours/week) - 4:30 am to 12:30 pm. Must be available to work any day, including weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals according to planned menus and recipes, ensuring quality and minimizing waste.
  • Review menus and work orders to determine food quantities and identify all foods required for therapeutic diets.
  • Measure, prep, and mix ingredients as per recipes.
  • Assist drivers with meal preparation and loading/unloading for delivery.
  • Portion and arrange food for serving, following proper presentation standards.
  • Label and date all food items according to storage guidelines.
  • Check-in, stock, and store deliveries appropriately.
  • Ensure compliance with Hawaii Department of Health sanitation standards during food preparation and service.
  • Participate in emergency drills and respond to situations such as fire or hurricanes as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
  • Interact with residents and co-workers with patience, understanding, and kindness, aligning with our mission and values.

Education / Experience

Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience/training; or equivalent combination.

Computer Skills

Basic skills with the ability to learn new systems as needed.

Physical Demands

Regularly stand, walk, handle, reach, talk, hear, and sense taste/smell. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
