Position Summary : Under the general supervision of the Restaurant Services Supervisor, responsible for maintaining an efficient and profitable restaurant operation by taking guest orders, delivering food, drinks, and merchandise, and serving guests in a courteous manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Prepare all food and beverage items according to prep sheets and standard recipes.
- Display all food and merchandise in compliance with ServSafe and other regulatory standards.
- Maintain inventory and supplies, preparing food based on business volume and directives from supervisors using par levels.
- Utilize the Point of Sale (POS) system effectively.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, following casino-wide, food, and beverage policies.
- Count cash, separate charge slips, and input tips into tip pouches promptly.
- Keep dining area tables clean and maintained throughout the shift.
- Clean shelves, counters, and windows; maintain a sanitary work environment.
- Set up and maintain stations, ensuring all displays and refrigerators are clean and stocked.
- Maintain an organized work area for guest convenience and safety.
- Provide knowledgeable answers to guest inquiries regarding food venues, beverage service, and casino information.
- Properly package purchases for guests.
- Take and serve food and drink orders accurately and professionally.
- Engage attentively with guests throughout the dining experience, exceeding service standards when possible.
- Memorize menu items, recipes, and specials to assist guests effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in the restaurant, wait stations, and kitchen areas, adhering to health regulations.
- Restock and clean as part of opening and closing duties.
- Control guest checks following established procedures, ensuring accuracy of payments.
- Participate in pre-meal and departmental meetings for product and service updates.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and comments, providing excellent customer service.
- Report maintenance or housekeeping issues to management.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Follow safety and customer service policies and procedures.
- Contribute to team efforts and perform related duties as required.
- Practice responsible alcohol service as trained.
- Promote special offerings and utilize upselling skills to enhance guest experience.
- Possess proper knowledge of wine and spirits, especially for fine dining.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain health, sanitation, and food handling standards.
Access and Signatory Authority : Access to F&B storage areas; no signatory authority.
Minimum Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED required, unless waived.
- Six months of customer service experience required.
- Food and beverage and cash handling experience preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening, background check, and obtain/maintain gaming license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, food service principles, and menu items.
- Basic math and arithmetic skills.
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash registers.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain professional relationships.
Physical Demands : Regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity required.
Work Environment : Exposure to cigarette smoke, noisy, indoor and outdoor settings, extreme temperatures, and weather conditions. Must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays.
