A leading chemical manufacturing company is seeking an Area Manager Downstream to join their industry-leading sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue and profit growth within targeted accounts in the Downstream division.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with existing customers using a consultative sales approach, executing system assurance programs aligned with their key business needs.
- Convert strategic competitive accounts and introduce new technologies to current customers.
- Drive profit growth by developing and executing district plans to maximize revenue.
- Collaborate with senior management to meet objectives and generate accurate sales forecasts.
- Participate in strategic planning, leveraging market analytics to adapt to emerging conditions.
- Lead and coach sales teams, ensuring training standards are met and performance issues are addressed promptly.
- Work closely with customers to understand their business needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Support the team in identifying market trends and sharing expertise.
- Support strategic and tactical planning to optimize ROI and resource allocation.
- Lead district meetings and champion corporate initiatives.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, wastewater treatment systems, or paper processing.
- Experience doing business within the Downstream Industries, Oil, and Gas sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.).
- MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of successful technical or outside sales experience, engaging with multi-level plant or facilities management, and developing executive relationships.
- 5+ years of leading and developing teams.
- Ability to travel as required; a valid driver’s license is mandatory.
